Cooking Tech (Again)

Technology: WALT follow a brief by justifying the nature of an intended outcome in relation to the need or opportunity. Use the criteria identified to inform the development of an outcome and its evaluation.

Today for tech we had to make a treat to share with our bubbles buddies. I made them pancakes for breakfast.

Recipe:

1 cup champion standard grade flour               1 egg
⅛ teaspoon salt                                                               about 1 cup of milk

Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Add egg, mixing to combine. Gradually beat in sufficient milk to mix to a smooth batter. Chill for 1 hour. Stir. The batter will thicken on standing. Heat a greased pancake pan or small frying pan. Pour in just enough batter to cover the base of the pan. Cook until golden on the underside. Release with knife around edges. Flip  or turn and cook the other side. Stack pancakes as you cook. Serves 4.

Cooking

Technology: Cooking.  We had to cook at home because we are in social distancing/isolation. Today We made the ULTIMATE SANDWICH. I made a breakfast sandwich and instead of bread I used pancakes with bacon and egg in between.

WALT follow a brief by justifying the nature of an intended outcome in relation
to the need or opportunity. Use the criteria identified to inform the
development of an outcome and its evaluation.

Markings:
1. healthiness of the ingredients 7/10 because the pancakes have no sugar and
the eggs are healthy.
2. eye appeal/ presentation 4/10 because it didn't look that good because the
pancakes were uneven and the yolk popped in the eggs.
3. ease of handling 4/10 because some parts fell apart.
4. Taste 10/10 because everything was cooked good and I
like pancakes.

By the way the drink is not alcoholic.

Questions Workshee

WALT: Under Stand The Earth's Systems.
Fact Card#1: How does water move on the surface of ocean?

Water moves in the form of waves.
Fact Card#2: How does water move below the surface of
ocean?
The water moves in currents.
Fact Card #3: What are the two types of ocean currents?
Surface currents and deep currents.
Fact Card #4: Define ocean currents.
Ocean currents are moving streams of water.
Fact Card #5: Define the ‘surface current’.
A surface current is a current that moves on or near the
surface of the ocean.
Fact Card #6: List the factors which control the surface
currents.
Air currents, earth's rotation and location of continents.
Fact Card#7: Which factors affect the flow of ocean surface
water?
Global wind belts

Questions Worksheet
Fact Card#8: How are deep currents generated in ocean?
Difference in the water density due to the temperature
gradient.

Fact Card#9: Write down the characteristics of cold and
warm water.
Cold water is more dense and warm water is less dense.
Fact Card #10: Which ocean currents travel faster?
Surface currents travel much faster Then deep ocean
currents.
Fact Card #11: Write the factors that cause the deep
currents.
Deep currents are caused by the temperature, salinity
and the density of the water.

Fact Card #12: How do the Sun and the Moon cause the
ocean currents?
From the gravitational pull of the sun and moon Which also
causes currents.

Fact Card #13: Give the definition of wave.
A wave is a rhythmic movement that can that carries
energy through the matter or space
Fact Card#14: What are the causes of waves?
Waves are caused by wind earthquakes and the gravity
of the moon and sun. buy

Questions Worksheet
Fact Card#15: List the characteristics of a wave.
Wavelength, way fight, crest and Trough
Fact Card#16: Write the parameters on which the wave
height is dependent.
Wind speed distance over which the wind blows the
length of time (fetch) the wind blows.

Fact Card #17: What happens during tide?
Tired as a periodic rise and fall of the sea level under the
gravitational pull of the sun and moon.

Fact Card #18: What do you mean by high tide?
High tide is where the water is at its highest.
Fact Card #19: What do you mean by low tide?
Low tide is when the water is at its lowest.
Fact Card #20: How does the Moon’s gravity pulls ocean
water?
The moon's gravity pulls the water on the earth towards
it and the water moves up into bulge.

Fact Card#21: What is the cycle duration of high/low tide?
Generally 1 high tide or low tide cycle happens every 12
hours.

Fact Card#22: Define tidal range.
The difference in ocean level between high tide and low tide.
Fact Card#23: When does spring tide occur?
Spring tides happen when the Earth the sun and the moon
are in a line.

Fact Card #24: Which tides occur during full/new moon?
Spring tides occur during new the moon and the full moon
in the new moon
Fact Card #25: When does neap tide occur?
Neap tides happen when the moon and sun are
perpendicular to each other

Fact Card #26: Which tides occur during quarter moon?
Neap tide
Fact Card #27: Which tides are known as weak tides? Why?
Neap tides are weak because the moon and the sun pull
The water and make it weaker.
Fact Card#28: Which tides are known as strong tides? Why?
Spring tides are strong tides because the moon and the
sun's gravitational force combined to create a strong tide.
